Pharmaceutical Labs are difficult places to practice in!
Monash University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science needed a way for students to learn about how various laboratories worked without having to deal with the limitations, expense, danger and logistical nightmare of getting them into real ones.
Many of these processes can cost in the millions of dollars per batch – so practice on the job is not an option. They are also in sterile environments, often operating 24 hours a day, meaning access is very difficult.
Since 2009 Oztron has worked with Monash University Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to developPharmatopia, a series of 3d, interactive online training modules.
The modules are created with Unity3d software and are used by pharmacy students and professionals all over the world.
Eleven different modules are accessible in three languages, English, Chinese and Spanish.
Here is a short animation from the university explaining how the project works. We are the nerd in glasses.
Here is another video which explains what Pharmatopia is;

- Corporate partners include GSK and CSL
- Used all over the globe
- Available in English, Chinese and Spanish
